The Dominican Republic is located in the Caribbean, southeast of Cuba, on the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the country of Haiti and Cabrera is a small town located at the eastern end of the north coast of Dominican Republic just between Rio San Juan and Nagua in the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez. It is 130 kilometres north of Santo Domingo at the western extreme of the Bahia Escoscesa.
After arriving at the Puerto Plata airport you are whisked eastward via taxi about 50 miles or slightly more than an hour to arrive in Cabrera.
This small town facing the Atlantic is considered one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic. Cabrera has one of the most beautiful beaches of Dominican Republic called, Playa Grande". The others are El Diamante, El Calenton de Dario, El Calenton del Medio,El Calenton de Chiquito. When you are in Cabrera you have to visit the National Park reserve that is located in “El Breton,” a small section of Cabrera called Cabo Frances Viejo.
This picturesque rural community has not yet been spoiled by the trappings of tourism so it presents an exceptionally charming, colorful and quiet area. Cabrera is an oasis along the coast with unspoiled beauty, extraodinarily friendly Dominicans, crystal clear waters and one of the most famous golf courses in the world just 10 minutes away!
